“I am so honored that The JUNO Awards and now The Prism Prize are recognizing our video for Not Up To Me. Many young women today are suffering from physical, verbal and sexual abuse leading to severe depression and mental health issues. Whether it be from their peers, strangers, those in power or through the anonymity of social media – we often blame ourselves in silence, turning to substance abuse or other self harming behavior. We hope this video will open your eyes and remove the stigma around abuse and depression so we feel safe in having these conversations and seeking help. We hope the girls we love know we will always dive in to keep them from drowning.” To vote for “Not Up To Me” go to http://www.prismprize.com

Following up on an acclaimed EP, Kandle has released her debut album, In Flames, on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 under Dare To Care Records.
In Flames features a powerful collaboration with Sam Goldberg (Broken Social Scene) and impressive cameos by Béatrice Martin (Cœur de pirate) and Sam Roberts, who commented: “Kandle writes songs with a directness and an honesty few are brave enough to attempt – and she has the voice to drive the stake home.”
Since the release of her EP, Kandle earned praise from Brooklyn Vegan, The Globe and Mail, The National Post, George Stroumboulopoulos, VOIR, Huffington Post, The Gazette, La Presse, Flare, Elle, TORO and more! She has toured extensively through Europe and North America and performed at many top festivals, including Osheaga, CMJ and Pop Montreal.
